A doula refers to a trained and experienced professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to the mother before, during and just after birth; or who provides emotional and practical support during the postpartum period.

A postpartum doula:

- Offers education, companionship and nonjudgmental support during the postpartum fourth trimester
- Assists with newborn care, family adjustment, meal preparation and light household tidying, sibling support, and resource recommendations
- Offers evidence-based information on infant feeding, emotional and physical recovery from birth, infant soothing and coping skills for new parents and makes appropriate referrals when necessary

The role of the doula is to help the family experience success. She does this with quiet, reassuring support for all family members. By dedicating herself to the family in this way, the doula validates and enhances the parents' intuitive ability to nurture and encourages them to become confident to develop and implement their own parenting style.

What postpartum support can look like:

Overnight Support:

Overnight support is one of our most popular packages. Sleep is so important to the health and well being of ALL family members, and getting enough of it is one of the hardest things to acheive. Whether you are breast/bottle feeding or even if you are practicing any type of attachment parenting or sleep education program - we have specific packages to give you some well needed sleep and respite!
